CONGRATULATIONS CHOIR CLUB OF SMK SEAFIELD
Congratulations to the Choir Club of SMK Seafield, Subang Jaya and its teacher advisers Puan Loh Aik Ban, Puan Khasniyati and Cik Noridayu for coming up with their third musical, Footloose.
Congratulations also to the Principal, Puan Teh Seok Im, teachers and parents for providing a conducive environment and platform for students to unleash their potentials, innovations and creativities.
Footloose is indeed a perfect choice of musical since it is about fighting against oppression. It reflects on achievement in our struggle for liberation. So I suggest all students should attend this musical. We will learn the lessons from it while enjoying ourselves with dance, music and drama. I'm proud of the Choir team for achieving such outstanding accomplishments in their previous musicals namely, Grease and Mamma Mia. Now, I'm looking forward to enjoy myself with their great performance in Footloose.
To the Choir team, wishing you all the best. May success be with you always.
Regards,
Dato' Abd Rahman Hj Ali

CINK WON 2009 OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
"I'm a little intimidated
by this piece of hardware,"
said Cink upon receiving the Claret Jug.
"There are a lot of emotions running through
my mind and my heart and I'm just proud to be here with this."
I had the opportunity to watch the thrilling final round live on channel ESPN last night. It's amazing that Tom Watson, at 59 years of age was able to perform superbly throughout the four days. However at the final hole, his putter had failed him to obtain a par, thus forcing him into a play-off with Stewart Cink and finally unable to clinch the magical sixth Open victory.
Cink's victory came at the end of the four extra holes where he outplayed Watson with a score of two under par against four over.

Stewart Cink, the world number 33 has won the 2009 Open Champion after defeating five- time winner, Tom Watson in a four-hole play- off at Turnberry, Scotland.

M.J. HAS FINALLY PUT TO REST
“There are certain people
in our popular culture that just capture people’s imaginations,
and in death, they become even larger.”
President Obama told CBS News from Moscow.
The King of Pop has finally put to rest after an emotional memorial service which was attended by 20,000 people and watched by millions around the world.
At the memorial service, family and friends paid their last respect to the greatest pop icon in modern history. Mariah Carey sang I'll be there, my favourite song, joined by Trey Lorenz. Jermaine Jackson sang MJ's Favourite song, Smile, written by Charlie Chaplain for Modern
Time.
Queen latifah gave a speech tribute and a great poem written by Maya Angelou. She repeatedly said,"We had him". But at the end she spoke of undeniable truth of MJ,"He gave us all he had."
I was touched by the speech made by Paris Jackson, MJ's own daughter. "Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you would ever imagine."Paris said sobbing. " And I just want to say I love him so much."
Though his burial ground remains a mystery, let the King of Pop rest in peace while his legacy will live forever.

THE WORLD'S LARGEST FLOWER
Did you know Rafflesia arnoldi is the largest flower in the world?
If yes, congratulations! If no, welcome to a new fact of flowers.
Rafflesia arnoldi, the world's largest flower grows only on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. It weighs up to 7 kg and has a diameter of about 1 meter in full bloom. It takes the bud up to 8 months to mature and stays in bloom up to 15 days, during the month of September till December.
There are 17 Rafflesia species found throughout Southeast Asia, mainly in Sumatra, Borneo and Sabah, Malaysia. The species is named after the naturalist Sir Stamford Raffles, who founded the British colony of Singapore in 1819. The Rafflesia arnoldi is named after Raffles and his friend Dr Joseph Arnold who discovered the parasitic plant during their travels in May1818.
Although Rafflesia arnoldi may be facinating and beautiful, it is also called "corpse flower" since it has a strong unpleasent smell that attract flies for pollination.
Rafflesia generates ecotourism: thousands of people go to Sabah, Borneo and Sumatra annually hoping to see Rafflesia blooms.
